No. 9 Women's Golf Shatters School Record in Memphis

Memphis, Tenn., Sept. 7, 2019 – The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team fired a school-record seven-under 281 Saturday as the Bears sit in first place after day one of the Rhodes Classic at the Links of Galloway in Memphis.

Senior Samantha Haubenstock shot a six-under 66 to tie the WashU single round low set by Oliva Lugar during the 2014-15 season. Haubenstock had six birdies and 12 pars during her round, which included a 33 on the front and back.

Senior Emily Carnes and freshman Annie Mascot each fired a one-under 71 and sit in a tie for third place, while freshman Alena Lindh is tied for sixth after a one-over 73. Freshman Emma Lee shot an eight-over 79 and is in 17th place. 

Freshman Emmy Sammons fired a four-over 76 and is the top WashU individual in a tie for 10th place.

Day two of the Rhodes Classic begins Sunday at 10 a.m.
