St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 5, 2019 – The Washington University in St. Louis football team limited North Park University to 152 yards of total offense in a 35-10 win in front of 1,927 fans Saturday at Francis Olympic Field in St. Louis. 

WashU improved its overall record to 3-1 and 2-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), while North Park fell to 0-4 and 0-3 in the CCIW. 

Sophomore linebacker Alex Harvey made a career-high 10 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and sack, while senior defensive lineman Clayton Farris tied a career-best with six tackles, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

WashU's defense recorded four sacks and 13 tackles for loss, and forced nine punts in the victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, WashU erupted for 21 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 21-3 halftime lead. 

Senior quarterback Johnny Davidson connected with senior wide receiver Nick Watts for an 11-yard TD pass with 13:42 left before half to get the Bears on the board. After a field goal by North Park, Davidson scored from 15 yards out to make it 14-3 with 1:38 left.

Junior defensive back Will Hurley intercepted North Park QB Grant Borsch on the ensuing play to give the Bears one more scoring chance before half. Six plays later, Watts hauled in an eight-yard TD reception with 37 seconds left to make it 21-3.

Sophomore quarterback Tim Tague and Davidson each had a touchdown toss in the second half for WashU.

Sophomore wide receiver Brendan Morrissey hauled in a 54-yard TD reception with 2:15 left in the third, and then Davidson connected with sophomore wide receiver Cole Okminfor a 32-yard TD reception with 12:47 left in the fourth.

Davidson finished the day 27-of-41 for 227 yards and three touchdowns, while Tague was 3-of-6 for 98 yards and a TD. Sophomore running back Matt Moore ran for a career-best 74 yards on eight carries, while Watts had five receptions for 64 yards and a pair of TDs. 

WashU totaled 457 yards of offense in the win, but turned the ball over three times.

WashU hosts Elmhurst University (1-3, 1-2 CCIW) on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m., as the Bears celebrate Youth Day.
