All Five Track & Field Bears Advance to Saturday's Finals

Geneva, Ohio, May 26, 2017 – The Washington University in St. Louis track & field program had five individuals compete in prelims on Friday afternoon and successfully secure six spots in Saturday's finals at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Senior Daisy Ogede set a school record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.11, shedding 0.2 seconds from school record she set previously this year. She placed first overall, while senior Rebecca Ridderhoff also earned a spot in the finals with a sixth place finishing time of 14.50.

Ogede also earned a spot in the 100m dash finals with a time of 12.03, good for fourth overall in multiple heats.

The Bears also excelled in the 800m run with junior Annalise Wagner winning her heat in a time of 2:10.50. Senior Ashley Knudson placed third in her heat with a personal-best time of 2:09.33, securing the seventh seed in the finals.

Senior Deko Ricketts was the final Bear to secure his fate with a finals qualifying time of 1:51.00 in the 800m run on the men's side. He placed fifth overall.

After two days at the Nationals Championships, the Bears had every athlete competing in preliminary events advance to Saturday's finals. The schedule for Saturday is listed below.
