Bears Shatter Two School Records at Hoosier Hills Invite

Bloomington, Ind., Feb. 10, 2017 - Senior Rebecca Ridderhoff and junior Elvir Sarajlic each broke school records to highlight 11 career-best performances for the Washington University in St. Louis men's and women's indoor track & field teams Friday night at the Hoosier Hills Invite hosted by Indiana University.

Ridderhoff clocked a school-record time of 56.13 to win the women's 400. Ridderhoff shaved more than five seconds off her previous career best to post the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. Senior Kelli Hancock also competed in the 400, finishing sixth with a time of 58.19.

Sarajlic raced to a school-record time of 4:11.56 to finish fourth in the men's mile fast section. The time was more than a seven-second improvement from his previous career-best, with the time ranking 10th in NCAA Division III this season. Senior Mike Sullivan competed in another heat of the men's mile and finished fourth with a time of 4:17.75.

Senior Deko Ricketts was the lone event winner for the WashU men, clocking a time of 1:52.83 in the men's 800 dash. The time ranks fifth in NCAA Division III this season. Senior Conor Cashner also competed in the 800, posting a fifth-place finish with a career-best time of 1:55.23.

Senior Daisy Ogede raced to a third-place finish in the women's 60 with a time of 7.75. Ogede also teamed up with senior Ashley Knudson, Hancock and Ridderhoff to finish second in the women's 1,600 relay with a time of 3:49.05, the second-fastest time in school history.

Junior Annalise Wagner finished second in the women's 800 fast section with a time of 2:12.76, while Knudson placed third with a career-best time of 2:13.43. Junior Aly Wayne ran a career-best time of 10:01.22 to finish fifth in the women's 3,000m. On the men's side, sophomore Peter Johnsrud (8:36.48) and senior Ryan Becker (8:47.10) each ran career-best times to place sixth and tenth, respectively in the 3,000m.

Freshman Elizabeth Hagstrom secured a fifth-place finish in the women's mile with a career-best time of 5:04.41. Junior Audrey Western (5:06.61, seventh place), senior Molly Kuhs (5:07.95, eighth place) and sophomore Abby Martin (5:08.78, ninth place) all set career-best times in the mile as well.
