ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis improved to 8-0 on the season, beating Millikin 2-0 on Wednesday evening at home.
The Bears put their first goal on the board in the 19
th minute when Millikin was whistled for a foul in the box. Senior
Sophie Viscovich scored the penalty kick for a 1-0 lead.
Viscovich scored her second goal in the 27
th minute, putting in a pass from junior
Olivia Clemons for the 2-0 advantage. She now has four goals on the season.
WashU outshot Millikin 29-1 with 11 shots on goal. The Bears also registered nine corner kicks to the Big Blue's two.
Viscovich registered five shots on the day with three on goal to go with her two goals. Sophomore
Monica Morales-Martinez had four shots with two on goal.
Junior
Kassidy Lanthier earned her second shutout of the year in goal.
The Bears hit the road on Friday for a game at Centre at 7 p.m. ET.
