Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team beat No. 14 Carnegie Mellon 7-0 on Saturday afternoon, at Mary Washington. The Bears are now 12-1 overall on the season.
Doubles
The Bears swept all three doubles matches for an early 1-0 lead.
No. 7 junior
Eleanor Archer and sophomore
Caitlin Bui earned a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Kotistha Modak and Ika Kanumuri.
No. 11 senior
Eliana Hanna and sophomore
Ally Lin defeated Divya Venkatarama and Ancele Dolensek 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
No. 18 sophomore
Sam Slowik and first-year
Lily Brecknock beat Rachel Li and Shelly Zinchenko 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
No. 8 Hanna beat Jane Wong 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles while no. 17 Archer had a 6-1, 6-2 win over 18 Zinchenko at No. 2 singles.
Bui defeated Modak 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and No. 45 Lin beat Kanumuri 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
Senior
Amber Edmonds topped Venkatarama 7-6, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and senior
Nina Moravekn beat Victoria Gazda 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
The Bears wrap up their trip back east tomorrow with a 10 a.m. ET match against Johns Hopkins at Mary Washington.
