No. 2 WashU Women's Tennis Secures 7-0 Win Over No. 29 Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team defeated No. 29 Mary Washington 7-0 on Friday afternoon. The Bears are now 11-1 on the year.
 
Doubles
The Bears won two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead.
 
No. 7 junior Eleanor Archer and sophomore Caitlin Bui defeated Addison Felts and Natalie Kim 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
 
No. 18 sophomore Sam Slowik and first-year Lily Brecknock beat Sophia Broomall and Jacey Copeland 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
 
No. 11 senior Eliana Hanna and sophomore Ally Lin fell to Isabella Rotaru and Sarah Sandoval Banuelos 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
 
Singles
No. 8 Hanna defeated Felts 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and No. 17 Archer topped Rotaru 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 at No. 2 singles.
 
Bui defeated Sandoval Banuelos 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and No. 45 Lin beat Broomall 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
 
Senior Amber Edmonds beat Copeland 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Brecknock topped Natalie Howell 6-1, 7-6 at No. 6 singles.
 
The Bears take on No. 14 Carnegie Mellon tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET at Mary Washington.
