WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 11 Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team maintained their spot after day one of the 2026 UAA Indoor Championships with a fourth-place finish, scoring 106.5 points.
Chicago claimed the team title with 164 points, while Emory finished as runner-up with 142 points. Carnegie Mellon scored 115 points to edge out the Bears' 106.5, with Case Western Reserve rounding out the top five with 43.5 points. NYU (25 points) and Brandeis (19 points) completed the field.
Several Bears claimed individual and relay UAA titles on Sunday. Senior
Dayton Lasack, first-year
Logan Fairchild, senior
Brandon Brazil, and junior
William Frohling won the 4x400m relay title in a UAA record time of 3:16.46.
Both Frohling and Lasack claimed individual titles, with Frohling winning the 800m title in 1:54.24 and Lasack winning the 400m title in 50.25.
On the field side, junior
Peter Lichtenberger claimed the pole vault title with a UAA record clearance of 5.07m.
Other top finishes include:
- Pole Vault
- In addition to Lichtenberger, graduate Tommaso Maiocco finished runner-up with a clearance of 5.07m as well. Due to tiebreakers, Lichtenberger finished first.
- Shot Put
- First-year Scott Cook finished in eighth place with a throw of 13.79m, scoring one point for the Bears.
- Mile
- First-year Max Sudrzynski finished seventh with a time of 4:16.70, adding two team points for WashU.
- 60m
- Fairchild also finished in a tie for fourth place with a time of 7.05, securing 4.5 team points.
- 800m
- In addition to Frohling, first-year Mateo Gros-Slovinsky finished eighth, scoring a team point, with a time of 1:58.40.
- 200m
- Fairchild finished as runner-up with a time of 22.06, adding eight team points for the Bears.
- Junior Alex Gardner added four points of his own with a time of 22.60, finishing fifth.
- 3000m
- The Bears finished fifth through seventh in the event, led by senior Conor Daly and his time of 8:30.33.
- Classmate Oliver Witt finished with a time of 8:31.98, while sophomore Ben Lorenz was seventh with a time of 8:32.31.
For their efforts across the two days, several team members secured All-UAA honors with their top-three finishes in both individual and relay events. Below is the list of honorees:
WashU will be back in action next weekend at the NCAA Qualifier hosted by Wartburg, with one more chance to earn a spot at the 2026 NCAA Indoor National Championship Meet (Mar. 13-14).
