Men's Track and Field

No. 7 WashU Men's Track & Field See Several Top Finishes At Annual Keck Select

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – It might have started to warm up, but it was already hot inside for the No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team at the annual Keck Select Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.

No team scores were kept at either meet.

Top Finishes
  • 3000m
    • WashU finished with the top six times, led by senior Oliver Witt's winning time of 8:28.07
    • Senior Conor Daly was runner-up with a time of 8:32.34 and first-year Max Sudrzynski was third with a time of 8:32.93.
    • Sophomore Ben Lorenz and first-year Gavin O'Connor rounded out the top five with times of 8:35.39 and 8:42.33, respectively

  • Mile
    • Sophomore Caleb Brox won the event with a time of 4:20.93
    • First-year Bankson Roach was sixth with a time of 4:26.82
  • 60m
    • Junior Alexander Garnder was fifth in a time of 7.01
  • 400m
    • WashU had three finish in the top five, led by junior William Frohling with a time of 50.82 in third place
    • First-year Keon Preusser and senior Brandon Brazil were fourth and fifth in times of 50.85 and 51.05, respectively
  • 800m
  • 4x400m
  • Long Jump
    • Senior Carson Page finished in fifth place with a leap of 6.42m while junior Cal Newell was ninth with a distance of 6.10m
  • High Jump
    • Senior Eli Goldman was runner-up with a clear of 1.95m
  • Pole Vault
    • Senior George Bourdier cleared 5.20m for the second meet in a row to finish third
    • Junior Peter Lichtenberger finished in fourth place with a height of 5.10m, a new fourth best in Div. III
WashU will compete next Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Midwest Elite Invitational hosted by UW Whitewater at the Kachel Fieldhouse.
