CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team swept UW-Whitewater 7-0. The Bears are 4-0 in the spring season as they head into the ITA DIII National Women's Team Indoor Championship next weekend.
Doubles
The Bears swept doubles to earn the doubles point.
No. 7 junior
Eleanor Archer and sophomore
Caitlin Bui defeated Gracie Ha and Abigail Weaver 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
No. 11 senior
Eliana Hanna and sophomore
Ally Lin beat Molly Asfeld and Crystina Lee 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
No. 18 first-year
Lily Brecknock and sophomore Samantha Slowik topped Alexandra Repplier and Kaitlyn Remke 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
No. 8 Hanna beat Ha 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and No. 17 Archer defeated Weaver 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.
Bui topped Asfeld 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and No. 45 Lin beat Lee 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
No. 38 Brecknock beat Remke 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and senior
Amber Edmonds defeated Ashley Adkisson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The Bears being the ITA Indoor Champion on Friday with a 12:30 p.m. match against Sewanee. The championships are being played at the Farm and Forge Tennis Club in College Grove, Tenn.
