Personnel
WashU returns to the field five players who started at least 75% of contests a year ago, along with a pitching staff that went 19-9 last season.

Among the returners are six seniors and a graduate student – Josh Erpenbeck, Alex Ardemagni, Josh Holt, Connor Lindsey, Shane Pellegrino, Miles Quemuel-Labrador, and Isaac Zhang – all of whom played a significant number of innings. Graduate student Chase Brickley joins the Bears after playing previously at Colorado State.

Quemuel-Labrador led WashU in wins last season with six in 42.1 innings of work to go along with 41 strikeouts. Zhang, an All-Association and All-Region selection a year ago, went 3-1 on the mound with just a 2.06 ERA in 43.2 innings of work and 28 strikeouts. Pellegrino, who started all 43 games for the Bears last year, finished the 2025 season with a .258 batting average with six doubles, a triple, and a home run.

Returning for the junior class are team captain Anthony Equale, who played in 33 games, making 29 starts and had 26 hits with three home runs, six doubles, and a .271 batting average, and Townsend Stevenson, who became only the second pitcher in team history to pitch a complete game, no-hitter, and the first to do so with 10+ strikeouts.

Other returning juniors include Bo Ziegler, Owen Block, Miles Birke, Anderson Gomez, Parker Guthrie, and Levi Gingerich.

The sophomore class has seven returnees, who combined for 103 hits, including 13 doubles, three triples, and four home runs. Ryan Soong, Will Taigen, Cooper Greene, and Kevin Stephens each played in 34 games for WashU to lead the sophomores.

Other sophomores include Aiden Dennis, Jay Ronning, and Tyler Phillips.

Joining the squad this year is a talented group of 14 first-years.

The group includes pitchers Maxime Gonzales, Henry Wild, Ford Givens, Dylan Belyea, Stephen Hall, and Will Coffman. Fielding first-years include Liam Murphy, Drew Dillon, Jacob Witte, Chance Cromer, Ashton Bell, Kanten Smith, Eli Sitzer, and Dane Debbrecht.
