WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team opened the UAA slate on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Brandeis on the road. The Bears are now 10-0 on the year with a 1-0 mark in the conference play.
WashU got on the board early as sophomore
Heidi Fesler scored on assists from juniors
Emily Fox and
Kate Martin for a 1-0 lead and her third goal of the season. Fox is one of two players leading the Bears with four assists.
Senior
Sophie Viscovich scored an Olimpico (a goal directly off a corner kick), putting the Bears up 2-0. It marks Viscovich's fifth goal on the season.
In the 80
th minute, senior
Madi Foley netted her fifth goal of the year as well, scoring in the 80
th minute for a 3-0 Bears' advantage.
In the 85
th minute, Fox scored the final goal of the game and her sixth of the year on an assist from senior
Jadyn Aling.
As a team, WashU had 26 shots with 14 on goal to Brandeis' seven with one on goal. The Bears also edged the Judges 12-0 on corner kicks.

The Bears will be put to the test tomorrow against No. 5 MIT at 12 p.m. ET.
