Box Score ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team began competition for the 2025-26 year with the Lindenwood Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Bears competed against Division I players from both Lindenwood and SIUE.
 
Friday Doubles
Junior 
Eleanor Archer and sophomore 
Caitlin Bui defeated SIUE's Margaux Guibal Britt and Stefaniya Anikina 6-4. They went on to lose to Lindenwood's Paola Garcia and Fabiana Labrador 7-6 (4).
 
Sophomore 
Sam Slowik and senior 
Amber Edmonds lost to SIUE's Jessica Li and Mya Bowe 6-3.
 
Junior 
Emily Chiasson and first-year 
Maddie Morgan lost to SIUE's Aliya Rector and Paloma Hennicaux 6-1 before going on to beat SIUE's Chloe Koons and Emmerson Metzger 6-0.
 
Senior 
Eliana Hanna and Slowik lost to Guibal Britt and Anikina 6-3.
 
Edmonds and senior 
Teleya Blunt fell to Li and Bowe 7-6 (3).
 
Sophomore 
Chloe Brissett and senior 
Hallie Jeffers lost to Rector and Hennicaux 6-3 before falling to Lindenwood's Michella Trochez and Mathilde Humbert 6-2.
 
Blunt and first-year 
Lily Brecknock beat Lindenwood's Sofija Dunisijevic and Megan Caffin 6-4.
 
Brecknock and sophomore fell to Caffin and Humbert 7-5.
 
Saturday Singles
Lin defeated SIUE's Elena Palioura 2-6, 6-4, 13-11.
 
Archer beat Li 7-5, 6-2 and then went on to beat Labrador 3-6, 6-2, 10-3.
 
Bui fell to Hennicaux 1-6, 6-2, 10-7 before beating Caffin 3-0.
 
Hanna lost to Anikina 6-3, 6-2 while Brecknock defeated Rector 6-2, 6-4.
 
Chiasson topped Bowe 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 and Jeffers beat Metzger 8-4 before defeating Koons 8-5.
 
Morgan beat Koons 8-6 and fell to Garcia 7-6 (4), 6-2.
 
Brissett defeated Metzger 8-2 before beating Lindenwood's Aisha Merchant 6-0, 6-2.
 
Saturday Doubles
Archer and Bui beat Li and Palioura 6-4.
 
Hanna and Lin fell to Rector and Hennicaux 6-4.
 
The Bears are back in action next weekend when they host the ITA Fall Regional. Friday and Saturday action will be at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park and action will be at Tao Tennis Center on the Danforth Campus on Sunday and Monday.
