ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- With the 2025 season complete, the No. 28 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team has picked up some postseason honors. Junior
Colin Scruggs and seniors
Stefan Hester and
Pato Garcia Muriel have been named All-Americans by the ITA.
Scruggs played the majority of the season at the top singles spot for WashU and finished with an 11-6 record in dual matches. After reaching the quarterfinals of the Central Regional in the fall, he began the spring with the No. 33 individual ranking in Div. III. Despite falling in the first round of the NCAA tournament, Scruggs finishes the season No. 20 in the final ITA rankings to earn his All-American status.
Having to wait around most of the first day of the 2025 NCAA Doubles Tournament, Hester and Garcia Muriel finally were able to take to the court for their first-round match. After a little more than an hour, the pair claimed their All-American honors with a 6-4, 6-4 win over the No. 8 duo of Daniel Ardila and Dylan Blenkiron of Johns Hopkins. The pair went on to win over top-seeded Ethan Green and Kael Shah of Denison to reach the semifinals before falling to a duo from Tufts.
These were the first All-American honors for all three Bears.
