ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Four members of the RV Washington University in St. Louis baseball team have been named All-Region by D3baseball.com. In addition, graduate
Noah Reichman has also been named All-Region by Rawlings/ABCA.
Reichman was named Second Team All-Region by both organizations. Seniors
Brandon Buday and
Hank Weiss, along with junior
Isaac Zhang, were named Third Team All-Region by D3baseball.com. All four had been named All-Association by the UAA earlier this month.
Reichman played and started all but one game for the Bears this season. Throughout his 42 games played, he finished with a .413 batting average. He also managed to tally 59 hits, including 17 doubles and eight home runs. He finished the season with 43 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He walked 23 times and was hit by a pitch 16 times. He also had a .699 slugging percentage. Out of his 288 putouts and 12 assists, he committed just two errors for a .993 fielding percentage.
Buday finished the season with his highest batting average in his career (.379). He started all 36 games he appeared in during the season. He finished with 58 hits, including nine doubles, six triples, and a pair of home runs. He is now the all-time triples leader in program history. He also tallied 44 runs scored and 24 RBIs. He walked 10 times and was hit by a pitch twice. In the field, he collected 79 putouts while committing just two errors for a .975 fielding percentage. On April 18, he went a perfect 5-for-5 while hitting for the cycle.
Zhang finished the season with 12 appearances on the mound, including seven starts. He finished the season with a 3-1 record along with one save and a 2.06 ERA in 43.2 innings pitched. Opposing batters had only a .213 average against him, while he struck out 28 batters. He was named the UAA Pitcher of the Week on April 21.
Weiss finished the season with 11 appearances. He went 3-2 on the mound in 49 innings pitched while holding opposing batters to a .205 average. He concluded the season with a 1.84 ERA. He also led the Bears for the second year in a row with 71 strikeouts. Of the 218 batters he faced, he gave up only three extra-base hits (three doubles).
