CLAREMONT, Calif. – After waiting until the conclusion of the team tournament to find out their opponents, the members of the No. 28 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team competing at the NCAA Div. III Singles and Doubles Tournament finally got to see their matchups.
In singles, No. 18 junior
Colin Scruggs will face off against No. 9, fourth-seeded Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore in the first round. Meanwhile, classmate No. 21
Eric Kuo will take on No. 2, second-seeded Vuk Vuksanovic of Tufts. Both matches are scheduled to start at 12 p.m. PT (2 p.m. CT) on Friday, May 23.
A few hours later in doubles, the No. 11 duo of seniors
Pato Garcia Muriel and
Stefan Hester face off against No. 8 Daniel Ardila and Dylan Blenkiron of Johns Hopkins in their first-round matchup. They take to the court at 6 p.m. PT/8 p.m. CT.
All the matches are taking place at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California.
