BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – The No. 4 Washington University in St. Louis golf team won the Cardinal Classic, hosted by North Central College, with a score of 615 (316, 299). The two-day tournament on Monday and Tuesday was held at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
For the second time in three tournaments, sophomore
Amy Beanblossom won, posting a two-day score of 149 (77, 72).
Junior
Tiffany Chan tied for second with a 155 (76, 79) while first-year
Nicole McGuire (78, 79) and sophomore
Reagan Robinson (84, 73) tied for fourth with 157.
Rounding out the team play, senior
McKensey Kaseta finished 13
th with a 162 (81, 81).
The Bears also had three individuals compete. First-year
Mabrie McMahan tied for 11
th with a 161 (85, 76). Junior
Athena Nguyen tied for 14
th with a 165 (85, 80) and senior
Paige Warren finished 39
th with a 177 (93, 84).
Team and individual qualifiers for the NCAA Championships will be announced via press release on May 5 on NCAA.com. The championships will be held May 13-16 at Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg, Va.
