CANTON, Mo. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's outdoor track and field team had to make a quick adjustment this week as their regularly scheduled meet was canceled due to incoming weather. The Bears were able to enter several athletes into the Wildcat Open, hosted by Culver-Stockton College on Friday.

- Shot Put
- Junior Jenae Bothe won the event with a throw of 14.45m, more than 1.5m more than second place from Hannibal-Lagrange
- Seniors Taylor Simpson and Catryn Cattoor finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with throws of 11.54m and 11.37m
- Discus
- Bothe nearly won two events as she finished runner-up in the discus.
- Her throw of 38.36m was less than a meter behind the winner.
- Long Jump
- Graduate Ebun Opata used her final attempt to win the event with a leap of 5.57m
- Sophomore Maya Davis finished seven with two attempts at exactly 5.00m
- Triple Jump
- Opata claimed a second win in the triple jump as she finished with a jump of 12.82m. It was .04 from being two meters ahead of the runner-up.
- Her mark was 6th best in Div. III history
- Hammer Throw
- Junior Kally Mack finished second with a throw of 44.15m
- Javelin
- 4x100m
- It was a 1-2 finish for the Bears as the WashU A team finished in 46.63 and the WashU B finished with a time of 47.93
- 1500m
- WashU sent 12 runners to the starting line and it came back with the top 12 finishers in the event.
- The top three were senior Sophie Bekins (4:36.08), senior Virginia Pridgen (4:36.86), and junior Katie Rector (4:37.19)
- 100m Hurdles
- Senior Lauren Gay took the win with a time of 14.42

- Junior Kyle Spytek was third with a time of 24.61 while senior Nicole Stewart was fourth with a time of 24.63

- The WashU A team won the event with a time of 3:52.63
- The B team was third with a time of 4:00.74 and the C team was fourth with a time of 4:15.35
WashU will next look to defend its UAA Outdoor title a the 2025 UAA Outdoor Championships, Saturday, April 26 through Sunday, April 27 in Ichan Stadium. NYU is serving as the host institution.
