MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 6 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 6-1 in the opening match of the ITA Indoor National Championships.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Caitlin Bui fell to Alisha Chulani and Rebecca Kang 3-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Ally Lin lost to Ella Brissett and Lindsay Eisenman 3-6 at No. 2 doubles.

Sam Slowik defeated Celestina Cedillo and Muduo Zhou 7-6 (7-1) at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
Edmonds picked up the lone point for the Bears, defeating Cedillo 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Archer lost to Eisenman 3-6, 3-6 at No. 1 singles and Bui fell to Brissett 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 at No. 2 singles.
Hanna fell to Chulani 6-7, 4-6 at No. 3 singles and junior
Nina Moravek lost to Kong 2-6, 2-6 at No. 4 singles.
Lin lost to Zhou 4-6, 6-1, 1-6 at No. 5 singles.
The Bears will play No. 7 Johns Hopkins tomorrow at 9 a.m. The winner of this match advances to play for fifth place while the loser will play for seventh on Sunday.
