WashU Ranks Third in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings Following Fall, Leads UAA

FALL STANDINGS
 
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Washington University in St. Louis Athletic Department in is third overall in the fall Learfield Directors' Cup standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletes (NACDA) on Tuesday, highlighting another outstanding season of competitive excellence across its athletics programs.
 
Among the eight institutions in the University Athletic Association (UAA), WashU finished ahead of all conference peers in the fall standings, racking up 358.50 points so far this year.
 
Five WashU fall sports earned bids to NCAA postseason play, a testament to the department's depth, consistency, and commitment to excellence.
 
The fall was highlighted by the women's soccer program's second-straight national title, garnering 100 points towards the Directors' Cup. Women's cross country earned 72 points, placing seventh at nationals and men's cross country earned 58.5 points with a 16th-place finish at nationals. Volleyball and men's soccer both finished ninth for 64 points apiece.
 
The strong fall performance sets a solid foundation as WashU looks ahead to the winter and spring seasons, continuing its tradition of success both within the UAA and on the national stage.
 
The final fall standings for Division III will be published on Thursday, January 22 following the conclusion of the football national championship.
 
The winter Directors' Cup rankings will be released on April 2 and the final standings will be released on June 9.

About the Learfield Directors' Cup
The Directors' Cup is widely considered the ultimate measurement of overall athletic program success in collegiate sports. It was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
