WashU Football Closes Out Home Slate With 42-14 Win Over North Park

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The (RV) Washington University in St. Louis football team defeated North Park 42-14 in its final home contest of the 2025 season. The Bears are now 7-2 overall with a 6-2 mark in CCIW play.

Prior to the game, the Bears honored their 19 seniors: Salomon Dessalines, Will Gardner, Xander Georgoulis, Andrew Grisack, Caiden Hill, TJ Houston, Luke Johnston, Alex Kemp, Kollin Kolb, Anthony Kuceba, Alex Lassoued, Justin Mabry, Gyvnn Mendenhall, DJ Montgomery, Joseph Norris, Joseph Peters, Ryan Schmadtke, Fred Ware, and Brady Willmer.

After winning the toss and electing to receive, North Park came out and quickly scored for a 7-0 lead. On kickoff, Jereme Ombogo returned it for 97 yards for a touchdown, and Drayden Wilcox's extra point was good.

The Bears punted on their first drive of the game but tied the game up on their second drive. Junior Matthew Kinoshita ran for seven yards followed by one yard, and junior quarterback Levi Moore connected with junior Makael Carter for a 22-yard pass and a first down at the 25.

Kinoshita ran for another four yards, and then Moore picked up five yards. Kinoshita ran for a six-yard first down at the 10 and then added another yard before catching a pass from Moore for four yards to the five. Moore hit Carter for the final five yards and a touchdown, and sophomore kicker Matias Adrogue's kick was good, tying the game at 7-7 with 6:06 remaining in the first.

Three plays into North Park's drive, Dessalines intercepted the ball at the 47 and returned it for three yards, giving the Bears possession again. However, on WashU's next drive, Moore's pass was intercepted by Xavier Wade at the 21.

The Vikings punted on their ensuing drive, and the Bears scored on their next possession.

Moore started the drive with a 20-yard pass to junior Drew Bomar for a first down at the 34. Kinoshita ran for eight yards, and Moore hit Carter for eight more yards for another first down at the 14.

Moore ran for nine and four yards, respectively, before running the final yard for a touchdown. Adrogue's kick was good, making it a 14-7 game with 10:50 remaining in the second quarter.

After three drives that resulted in punts, the Bears began their next drive at 4:27 with a run for two yards from Moore. Moore then hit junior Nathan Bluhm for an 18-yard pass and a first down at the 11.

Moore followed with a 10-yard run before finishing off the drive with a one-yard touchdown run. Adrogue's kick was good, putting WashU ahead 21-7 with 2:12 left in the second quarter.

After forcing Chicago to punt on the next play, the Bears began their drive at the 46. Moore hit Carter for a 46-yard touchdown pass, and Adrogue's kick was good for a 28-7 WashU lead with just over one minute remaining in the first half.

As the clock ticked down towards halftime, North Park reached the 40 before junior Max Draheim forced a fumble and sophomore Aidan Hughes recovered it at the 43.

WashU received to start the second half, beginning with a 12-yard run from Ware, followed by three yards from Kinoshita. Moore then connected with Gardner for five yards and hit Kinoshita for three yards and a first down at the Bears' 45.

Kinoshita picked up two yards, and Moore hit Carter for seven yards. Moore ran for three yards and a first down at the 43, and Kinoshita picked up four yards. Moore and Carter connected again for five yards, and Kinoshita added one more yard. North Park was whistled for an offsides call, putting the Bears on the 29.

Moore ran for eight yards and then hit Bomar for one yard. Moore picked up a first down with a two-yard run to the 18, and Kinoshita added five yards. Moore hit Kinoshita for 10 yards to the three, and Moore finished it off with a three-yard touchdown run. Adrogue's kick was good for a 35-7 lead with 4:49 remaining in the third quarter.

The Bears began their next drive as the clock ran down in the third quarter. Sophomore quarterback Alexander Singh found first-year Avery Lazard for five yards, and sophomore Maddox Duncan ran for four yards. Singh's pass would have been intercepted, but North Park was whistled for another offsides call, putting WashU at the 45 to end the third.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, Singh launched a 45-yard pass to Lazard for a touchdown, and Adrogue's kick was good for a 42-7 WashU lead.

North Park reached the seven on its next drive before sophomore Thomas Telesco intercepted the pass in the end zone and returned it to the 41. On the Bears' next drive, however, the ball was fumbled, and North Park recovered it at its own 24.

The Vikings began their drive with a pass to Dylan Spedale for 31 yards and a first down at the 45. Quarterback Justen Green then hit Wesley McCloud for a 23-yard pass and a first down at the 22 before keeping the ball and running for five yards. Green and Spedale connected for a six-yard pass, and Green ran for seven yards. Spedale finished the play with a four-yard touchdown run, and Wilcox's kick was good, making it a 42-14 game with 3:47 remaining.

WashU had 398 yards of total offense (261 passing, 137 rushing) while North Park had 166 total yards (200 passing, -34 rushing).

Moore went 19-for-21 for 202 yards with two passing touchdowns and also ran for 36 yards on 13 carries with three touchdowns. Kinoshita ran for 41 yards on 11 attempts. Carter led the receivers with 103 yards on eight receptions and two touchdowns. Lazard had 50 yards on two receptions with a touchdown.

Defensively, Montgomery had four solo tackles with three tackles-for-loss and two sacks. Junior Joy Chane had three solo tackles with one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup.

The Bears close out the regular season next weekend with a road game at Augustana on Saturday at 12 p.m.
