CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 12 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team are in third with 476.5 points after the first day of the 16^th Annual Phoenix Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Chicago. The meet spans three days, held at the Chicago's Myers-McLoraine Pool.

• 200 Freestyle Relay
  • The team of first-year Ayaan Olasewere, senior Andrea Leng, sophomore Iris Qi and junior Izzie Gattone took fourth with an NCAA B cut time of 1:34.53
     
• 500 Freestyle
  • First-year Sarah Cohen finished sixth with a time of 5:00.92
  • Senior Ali Roche took seventh in 5:01.24
     
• 200 IM
  • Junior Rachel Bello took ninth in 2:07.76
     
• 50 Freestyle
  • Olasewere tied for ninth with a time of 24.01
     
• 400 Medley Relay
  • The Bears' team of junior Elizabeth Chen, junior Hannah Lee, junior Peyton Watson and Qi took third with a time of 3:46.42
  • The group of Leng, first-year Eliana King, junior Kiera Johnson and Cohen finished eighth in 3:54.32
     

 
The Bears continue competition tomorrow with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 800 freestyle relay.
