NAPERVILLE, Ill. / JOLIET, Ill. - In hopes of securing or improving upon a top-22 NCAA Division III mark, the Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team traveled to Joliet, Ill. to compete in University of St. Francis' last chance meet, Friday-Saturday May 10-11. Three pole vaulters also made the trip to Naperville, Ill. to participate in North Central College's Carius/Gregory Invitational, Thursday, May 9.

Thursday's Top Finishers (at North Central):
Pole Vault:
- Peter Lichtenberger won the event with his clearance of the 4.99m bar
- Reigning University Athletic Association (UAA) outdoor champion, Hayden Kunkel, spun a third-place finish as he posted a vault of 4.98m
- Tommaso Maiocco secured fourth in the event as he soared over the 4.84m bar

- James Corbett corralled third as he crossed the finish line with his mark of 3:49.88

- In the 5,000-meter open section two, Cullen Capuano secured a runner-up finish as he earned a time of 14:11.37
- Conor Daly (14:27.47) notched sixth in the event
- Matthew Hornung hauled in a mark of 14:48.45 to record 16th
- In the 5,000-meter open section one, Micah Benson turned in a time of 14:49.07, good for 10th
