PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team wrapped up the two-day University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Championships, Sunday, April 28.
The Bears saw one event win in final day, bringing its two-day total to four event victories.
WashU finished in fourth place, with 127 points. Carnegie Mellon University won the team title with 218 points. Emory University (180.5 points) took second, while University of Chicago (156.5 points) placed third.
Sunday's Top Finishers:
1,500 Meters:
- UAA CHAMPION!!
- William Houser, who set a new stadium record in the process, won the UAA title with his impressive mark of 3:52.09
- Houser broke the old stadium record of 3:52.55
- Houser spun 10 team points for the Bears
- James Corbett turned in a time of 3:52.81 to register a third-place finish
- Corbett secured six team points for the Bears
- Drew Sidamon-Eristoff finished right behind Corbett as Sidamon-Eristoff crossed the finish line with a mark of 3:52.82 to grab fourth
- Sidamon-Eristoff hauled in five team points for the Bears
- Frankie Lynch posted a time of 3:57.06 to take eighth
- Lynch grabbed one team point for the Bears
High Jump:
- In the high jump, Jalen Dural recorded a fifth-place finish with his leap of 1.91m
- Dural hauled in four points for the Bears
- Eli Golman (1.86m) took 11th
Triple Jump:
- Jared Dawkins posted a jump of 13.96m to claim third in the triple jump
- Dawkins notched seven team points for the Bears
- Jalen Dural recorded sixth with his mark of 13.60m
- Dural generated three team points for the Bears
- Nathan Scherer Jr. (13.25m) posted an 11th place finish
Discus Throw:
- Seif Elkhashab turned in an eighth-place finish with his throw of 39.22m
- Elkhashab recorded one team point for the Bears
- Tom Peters (36.06m) took 12th
4 x 100 Relay:
400 Meters:
- William Frohling recorded a fourth-place in the 400-meter event with his time of 49.26
- Frohling secured five team points for the Bears
800 Meters:
- Will Dehmler earned a third-place finish in the event as he turned in a time of 1:52.09
- Dehmler secured six team points for the Bears
- James Corbett garnered a time of 2:00.83, which was good for eighth
- Corbett grabbed one team point for the Bears
5,000 Meters:
- Cullen Capuano produced a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run with his mark of 14:51.92
- Capuano corralled eight team points for the Bears
- Conor Daly (15:19.98) and Matthew Hornung (15:28.13) took 10th and 11th, respectively
