Men’s Track and Field Posts Team Victory at Augustana’s Meet of Champions

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team participated in the two-day Augustana Meet of Champions, Friday-Saturday, April 19-20. The Bears secured three event victories.

WashU won the Augustana Meet of Champions with 127 points.

Loucas Xenakis finished second in the decathlon with 6500 points. Xenakis won the pole vault and javelin throw events.

Friday's Results:

100 Meters (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis secured ninth with a time of 11.27

Long Jump (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis grabbed a leap of 6.66m to earn sixth

Shot Put (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis notched 12th with a heave of 10.61m

High Jump (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis hauled in a 10th-place finish with a jump of 1.81m

400 Meters (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis ran a time of 53.40 to grab 12th

Discus Throw:

Seif Elkhashab finished 29th with his throw of 37.13m

Javelin Throw:

Grant Lane manufactured a heave of 44.20m to take seventh

110 Meter Hurdles (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis ran to a time of 16.11 to earn seventh

Discus (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis produced a throw of 27.05m to notch 15th

Pole Vault (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis won the pole vault event with a clearance of the 4.50m bar

Javelin (Decathlon):

Loucas Xenakis claimed his second event win of the day in the javelin with his throw of 52.81m

100 Meters:

Samuel Pan finished 19th with a time of 11.224
Elvin Binagi secured 40th with a mark of 11.573

400 Meters:

Alex Djetto crossed the finish line with a time of 51.88 to snag 19th
Carson Page (54.96) took 41st

800 Meters:

Drew Sidamon-Eristoff welcomed a season-best mark of 1:54.16 to garner fourth
Jackson Cox (1:56.41) and William Frohling (1:56.66) hauled in sixth and seventh, respectively
Brandon Brazil (2:00.16) took 24th

1,500 Meters:

WashU welcomed the top three finishes in the 1,500m event
William Houser won the event with a season-best time of 3:55.63
James Corbett spun a runner-up finish with a mark of 3:59.44
Frankie Lynch posted a time of 4:00.00 to take third
Fernando Ribeiro Duraes (4:00.65) and Mich Benson (4:05.09) took fifth and 11th

5,000 Meters:

Jack Maranz won the event as he bested the field with his personal best mark of 14:58.57
Alexander Bullard (15:08.90), Jesse Sanchez (15:14.82), and Alexander Gadin (15:27.13) finished third-fifth, respectively
Maxwell Latshaw (15:55.59) grabbed eighth

110 Meter Hurdles:

Jack Harris spun a mark of 16.83 to earn 23rd

3,000 Steeplechase:

Will Liu secured ninth in the event with a mark of 9:47.73
Right behind Liu, Charlie Fallon finished in 10th with a time of 9:47.74
Jamie Olson (10:05.46) secured 16th, while Griffin Walsh (10:11.51) took 18th

4 x 100 Relay:

WashU's relay team of Samuel Pan, Alex Djetto, Alex Gardner, and Elvin Binagi manufactured sixth with mark of 44.03

4 x 400 Relay:

WashU's team of Elvin Binagi, Jackson Cox, Brandon Brazil, and William Houser earned a runner-up finish with a mark of 3:23.77
