ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 9 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team defeated No. 24 Denison 7-2 on Friday afternoon. The Bears are now 13-2 on the year.
Doubles
No. 21 Amber
Eliana Hanna and
Amber Edmonds defeated Maia Nowicki and Dasha Chistyakova 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Nina Moravek and
Ainsley Heidbreder topped Caroline Kittle and Peyton Oda 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Karen Gao and
Eleanor Archer fell to Kendall Schrader and Caroline Lopez 4-8 at No. 2 doubles.
Singles
Archer defeated Chistyakova 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles while Hanna topped Kittle 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Gao beat Lopez 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Edmonds defeated Nowicki 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Emily Chiasson defeated Schrader 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 at No. 6 singles.
Moravek lost to Oda 2-6, 6-1, 9-11 at No. 1 singles.
The Bears face No. 5 Chicago tomorrow at 11 a.m. Prior to the game, WashU will honor its senior class.
