BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team traveled to Illinois Wesleyan University to compete in IWU's annual Keck Invitational, Saturday, February 3. WashU shared the track with NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III institutions.
Out of 14 scored events, WashU won four. The Bears took second in the meet with 105 points. Division I Illinois State University won the meet, earning 118 points. Loras College (101 points) secured a third-place team finish.
The Bears competed alongside Illinois Wesleyan University, Aurora University, Illinois State University, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Millikin University, Monmouth College, Illinois Tech., Saint Louis University (SLU) and University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL).
Saturday's Top Finishers:
60 Meters:
- The Bears had three runners in the 60-meter finals
- Jasmine Wright turned in the best time for WashU (7.77), which secured her a third-place finish
- Nicole Stewart registered a time of 7.95 to take sixth
- Kylie Spytek finished seventh with a mark of 8.06
200 Meters:
- In the field of 31, Gemma Pleas secured the top time for the Bears, grabbing eighth (27.31)
- Cecille Figueroa crossed the finish line with a time of 28.10 to earn 14th
400 Meters:
800 Meters:
- The Bears welcomed the top four times in the 800-meter
- Emma Kelley produced another win in the event, besting the field by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 2:07.33
- Izzy Gorton notched second in the event with a mark of 2:18.10
- Sophie Bekins (2:18.38) and Ruby Kaplan (2:18.63) earned third and fourth, respectively
Mile:
3,000 Meters:
- Abby Patterson hauled in the top time for the Bears with a mark of 10:47.74 to garner a fourth-place finish
- Avery Nason posted a time of 11:08.32 to take home sixth, while Vivienne Larson (11:16.95) registered seventh
60 Meter Hurdles:
- Holland Kantar, the lone Bear in the 60-meter hurdles final, secured sixth with a mark of 9.75
4 x 400 Relay:

Pole Vault:
- In the pole vault, Yasmin Ruff vaulted her way to a second-place finish (3.85m)
- Anna Curtis notched a vault of 3.55m to earn sixth
Weight Throw:
- Mikayla Wise secured ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.03m
