BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 23 Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team made the trip to Illinois Wesleyan University to compete in IWU's annual, two-day, Keck Invitational, Friday-Saturday, February 2-3.
Out of 15 scored events, WashU won four. The Bears secured a third-place team finish with 77 points. Division I Illinois State University won the meet with 118 points, while University of Dubuque earned a second-place finish with 83 points.
The Bears competed alongside Illinois Wesleyan University, Aurora University, Illinois State University, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Millikin University, Monmouth College, Illinois Tech., Saint Louis University (SLU) and University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL).
Loucas Xenakis set the school record in the heptathlon with 4,810 points. Xenakis broke Alex Arteaga's 4,767-point total from 2016.
Xenakis won the heptathlon with four event wins and three second-place finishes.

- Samuel Pan recorded 19th in the 200-meter event (23.94)

- WashU posted two top-10 times in the 400-meter event
- William Frohling notched a sixth-place finish with a time of 50.83
- Jackson Cox secured ninth as he crossed the finish line with a mark of 51.85
800 Meters:
Mile:
- The Bears earned the top two finishes in the mile run
- William Houser bested the field with his winning time of 4:20.44
- Conor Daly finished right behind Houser for a runner-up finish (4:20.89)
3,000 Meters:
- Jack Maranz, WashU's lone athlete in the 3,000-meter race, secured 11th (8:58.80)
5,000 Meters:
- Russell Kramer won the 5,000-meter race as he crossed the finish line with a mark of 15:17.19
- Micah Benson finished in second-place with a time of 15:26.22
4 x 400 Relay:
High Jump:
- Jalen Dural recorded a fourth-place finish in the high jump with his leap of 1.93m
- Solomon Kang notched a seventh-place finish in the long jump (6.69m)
- Jalen Dural recorded eighth in the event (6.45m)
Triple Jump:
- Matt Joachim finished in eighth-place with his jump of 12.45m
