No. 1 Women's Soccer Clinches UAA Title with 2-0 Win Over Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team clinched the UAA title on Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 15 Rochester, 2-0. It is the 17th time in program history the Bears have won the UAA and the second year in a row. In eight of the last nine years, WashU has won at least a partial share of the UAA title.

The Bears are now 17-0-1 overall with a 6-0 mark in conference play as they head into the final regular-season weekend.

The Bears quickly put a goal on the board, 7:13 in, as junior Grace Ehlert scored her 12th goal of the season on a pass from sophomore Sophie Viscovich. The goal marks Ehlert's fifth game-winning goal of the year and she ranks second among UAA players, second only to teammate Olivia Clemons.

WashU scored an insurance goal in the 79th minute as Clemons scored her team and conference-leading 17th goal of the year on an assist from first-year Cami Colpitts.

The Bears tallied 22 total shots with 12 on goal to Rochester's five total with four on goal. WashU also recorded 11 corner kicks to the Yellowjackets' three.

Graduate goalkeeper Sidney Conner made four saves on the day – all in the first half – for her sixth shutout of the season.

The Bears close out the regular season at (RV) Chicago on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
