ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis defeated RV Case Western Reserve University, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon to close out the regular-season home slate. The Bears are 16-0-1 on the year with a 5-0 mark in UAA play.
The Bears put away three goals in the first half, starting with a goal from junior
Kaci Karl at the 4:16 mark. Senior
Meryl McKenna gave a short pass to junior
Ella Koleno who sent it towards the goal where Karl was there to finish it for the 1-0 lead.
WashU struck again in the 14
th minute as junior
Grace Ehlert scored her 11
th goal of the year on a ball from Koleno, giving the Bears a 2-0 edge.
Sophomore
Sophie Viscovich scored the third goal of the first half, knocking the ball around the goalkeeper on a fastbreak and putting it away.
Following the halftime break, CWRU came out to score in the 53
rd as Molly Shamah fired a high shot to make it a 3-1 game.
As a team, the Bears totaled 12 shots with five on goal compared to CWRU's six with four on goal. Viscovich and Ehlert both had three shots for the Bears.

Sidney Conner made three saves for the Bears. She stopped a shot by Shamah in the 21
st minute, a Maggie Farra attempt in the 34
th minute and a Mackenzie Mueller shot in the 86
th minute.
WashU has two road games remaining in the regular season, starting with an 11 a.m. ET game at Rochester next Sunday, Nov. 3 before wrapping up with an 11 a.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Chicago.
