St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 14 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team topped Division II UMSL 175.00-62.00 on Friday evening. Prior to competition, the Bears honored their seniors
Kylie Juan and
Eve Kearns.
Swimming
The Bears started out the day with a win in the 200 medley relay as the team of
Elizabeth Chen,
Hannah Lee,
Peyton Watson and
Izzie Gattone won in 1:47.54. The team of Juan,
Riyapreet Sahota, Kearns and
Sophia Gossum finished in second place with a time of 1:48.92.
First-year
Rachel Bello was the top Bears' finisher in the 1,000 freestyle, finished second with a time of 11:05.92 while
Natalie Klaas took third in 11:07.22.
Kiara Crumbley finished fourth in 11:19.98.
Isabella Barrientos won the field in the 200 freestyle, racing to a time of 1:57.41.
Holly Gmelich took third in 2:00.02 and
Anya Rao took fourth in 2:01.25.
Nicole Caruso rounded out the top five with a time of 2:02.22.
Andrea Leng won the 50 freestyle, swimming to a time of 24.85. Watson claimed third with a time of 25.07 and Gattone took fourth in 25.14.
Lili Sandor won the 200 IM, racing to a time of 2:11.14 and
Rin Iimi took second with a time of 2:11.26.
Ali Roche finished third in 2:12.07 and Chen took fourth with a time of 2:12.80. Kearns finished fifth with a time of 2:12.85.
Kearns went on to win the 100 butterfly, racing to a time of 58.27. Watson finished second in 58.88 and
Kiera Johnson took third with a time of 1:00.41.
Avery Dixon finished fourth with a time of 1:00.53.
Sahota won the 100 freestyle, racing to a time of 53.46. Bello finished third with a time of 55.21 while Gmelich took fourth in 56.60.
Chen won the 100 backstroke, claiming first in 58.65. Juan finished second in 59.99 and Leng took fourth with a time of 1:01.38. Gattone rounded out the top five with a time of 1:01.61.
Roche was the top finisher in the 500 freestyle, taking second with a time of 5:15.37. Iimi finished third in 5:16.13 and Barrientos took fourth in 5:19.43.
Lee won the field in the 100 breaststroke, racing to a time of 1:07.18. Sahota took second in 1:07.58 and Sandor finished fourth with a time of 1:08.60. Dixon took fifth in 1:09.40.
The Bears wrapped up the day with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay as the team of Leng, Gossum, Roche and Bello raced to a time of 1:38.86. The team of Barrientos,
Yasmeen Ibrahim, Juan and Iimi took third in 1:42.31.
Diving
Roslyn Tischke won the 1-meter board, racking up 425.87 points.
Shanze Karimi finished second with a score of 420.67 and Madi Okon took third with 415.72 points.
Rosie Finglass finished fourth with a score of 396.37 and
Noa Miller took fifth with 395.02 points.
Karimi won the 3-meter board, finished with 256.27 points. Okon took second with a score of 242.02 while Finglass finished third with 239.02 points. Miller took fourth with a score of 214.35.
The Bears head to McKendree tomorrow for a 12 p.m. meet.
