EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The No. 11 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team opened the season on Saturday at the St. Louis Area Showcase, featuring the Bears, St. Louis University, UMSL and McKendree.

- Senior Izzie Gatton was the top Bear, finishing in fourth with a time of 24.90
- Junior Iris Qi took fifth in 24.94
- 100 Backstroke
- First-year Taylor Weaver was the top finisher for WashU taking sixth in 59.93
- 100 Breaststroke
- 100 Freestyle
- Watson won her second race of the day with a time of 52.75
- Qi finished fifth in 53.70
- 850 Freestyle Relay
- 200 Medley Relay
- Senior Elizabeth Chen, King, Gattone and Olasewere finished third in 1:49.06
- Weaver, first-year Eva Lofthus, Watson and Basler tied for fifth in 1:51.03
The Bears return to action on Saturday, October 31 at the University of Chicago against the no. 7 Maroons and No. 14 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
