ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team finished day one of the St. Louis University Invitational on Friday afternoon.
 
Singles Flight 1
Sophomore Nina Moravek lost to SLU's Norhan Hesham 6-2, 6-1 to fall into the consolation bracket. She went on to beat Lindenwood's Elisa Dornelles 6-1, 6-2, reaching the consolation final which will be played tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
 
Eleanor Archer lost to SLU's Elizabeth Mintusova 6-3, 6-1. She then lost to SLU's Kseniia Aleshina 6-4, 6-2 in the backdraw. She faces Dornelles tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the seventh-place match.
 
Singles Flight 2
Katherine Johnston fell to SLU's Sandra Gines 6-1, 6-4. She then fell to Lindenwood's Fabiana Labrador 6-2, 7-5 in the backdraw. She faces Missouri State's Lisa Muehlbauer at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the seventh-place match.
 
Amber Edmonds defeated Muehlbauer 6-1, 6p1 to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal match, she fell to SLU's Fiorella Duran 6-1, 6-3. She will face Gines tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the third-place match.
 
Singles Flight 3
Carolyn Tsung fell to SLU's Lizzie Barlow 6-1, 7-6 (5) but went on to defeat Lindenwood's Yana Gaskell 6-2, 7-6 (3) in the backdraw. She will play Lindenwood's Jordan Lee in the consolation final tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
 
Hallie Jeffers fell to SLU's Emmerson White 6-0, 6-2. She then fell to Lee 6-1, 2-6, 10-6 in the consolation semifinal. She will take on Gaskell tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the seventh-place match.
 
Singles Flight 4
Randi Hendricks fell to SLU's Angelina Joao 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8 in the opening round. She then fell to Missouri State's Nicole Ross 6-1, 6-4 in the backdraw. She will face teammate Ainsley Heidbreder tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the seventh-place match.
 
Heidbreder fell to SLU's Kate Sexton 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 before losing to Lindenwood's Eveline Nilsson 6-3, 6-7 (3), 10-8 in the back draw.
 
Emily Chiasson defeated Nilsson 6-0, 6-4 and went on to top Sexton 6-4, 6-2. She will take on Joao in the final tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
 
Katie Finerman defeated Ross 6-4, 6-2 in the opening round before falling to Joao 6-2, 6-3. She will face Sexton tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the third-place match.
 
Doubles Flight 1
Moravek and Archer defeated Missouri State's Ross and Sandra Lukacova 6-1. They will take on SLU's Aleshina and Mintusova tomorrow in the semifinal match at 9 a.m.
 
Karen Gao and Eliana Hanna fell to SLU's Hesham and Gines 6-0. They will face Lindenwood's Kulczynski and Labrador in the semifinal of the backdraw tomorrow at 9 a.m.
 
Double Flight 2
Johnston and Tsung defeated Missouri State's Juliette Robinson and Muehlbauer 6-0. They face teammates Maggie Yang and Chiasson tomorrow in the semifinal at 9 a.m.
 
Heidbreder and Edmonds defeated Lindenwood's Nilsson and Lee 6-1 in the opening round. They will face SLU's Duran and White in the semifinal tomorrow at 9 a.m.
 
Finerman and Hendricks fell to White and Duran 6-1. They will take on Nilsson and Lee in the backdraw semifinal tomorrow at 9 a.m.
