Kindt Announced as Assistant Director, Athletics Communications

St. Louis, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the John M. Schael Director of Athletics Anthony J. Azama has announced the hiring of Brian Kindt as the new Assistant Director, Athletics Communications.
 
Kindt comes to the Danforth Campus after serving as a graduate assistant in the athletics communications office at Illinois Wesleyan. At IWU, he was responsible for the promotion of baseball, men's and women's volleyball, men's soccer, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's cross country and women's bowling which included press releases, statistics, media guides, game notes and event recaps. Additionally, he assisted in overseeing the student worker staff and arranged media days.

"A former Division III athlete himself, Brian's passion for athletics and excitement to tell the student-athletes stories stood out during the interviewing process. The experience he gained at Illinois Wesleyan will prove extremely valuable as we work promote WashU's fantastic programs and enhance the Bears' brand."
 
Last summer, Kindt served as a summer intern at St. Louis University where he gained well-rounded experience in facilities, summer events supervision, department meeting preparation and equipment.
 
A four-year member of the Illinois College baseball team, Kindt worked as a sports information intern for two years. During that time, he kept stats, wrote post-game recaps, trained student workers, facilitated the set-up and break down of live streaming equipment, assisted with records and archival information and created graphics for social media.
 
The Chesterfield, Mo. native graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a double concentration in management and sports management from Illinois College and went on to obtain his master's degree in kinesiology and recreation: sport management from Illinois State University.
 
Kindt's first day at WashU is May 15.
