CLEVELAND, Ohio — The National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) has announced its next slate of board leadership for the 2026–27 membership year, including the election of Anthony J. Azama, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success and the John M. Schael Director of Athletics as Third Vice President.
"I am honored to be elected to serve on the NADIIIAA board in this capacity as college athletics faces unique challenges while simultaneously staying true to the DIII philosophy of developing student-athletes," Azama stated.
Azama will join the organization's leadership team alongside Kristofer Schnatz of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, who will move into the role of President; Crystal Gibsonof Widener University, who will serve as First Vice President; and Donnie Brooks of Macalester College, who will become Second Vice President.
Azama served as chair of the NADIIIAA membership committee, helping the association achieve a record-high membership level this year which contributed to increased convention participation in Las Vegas.
The association also announced the addition of two at-large members to the Board of Directors, following summer membership voting: Jason Doviak, Director of Athletics at Alfred State College, and Lesley Irvine, Vice President of Athletics/Athletic Director at Colorado College.
Additional board members include Immediate Past President Laura Mooney of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, along with at-large members Nikki Ayers of the University of the Redlands, G. Anthony Grant of MIT, Brian Sisson of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and John Sutyak of the University of Southern Maine.
