Mary Reid Announced as New Student-Athlete Development and Experience Coordinator

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Washington University in St. Louis Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Director of Athletics Anthony J. Azama has announced the hiring of Mary Reid as the newest Student-Athlete Development and Experience Coordinator. She will begin her new role overseeing Enrichment Services for Student-Athlete Development on Wednesday, June 24.
 
"We are excited to continue developing champions through the Center of Excellence Enrichment Services for Student-Athlete Development. Mary will expand and impact our efforts with her expertise and care for student-athletes," said Azama.
 
Reid is no stranger to WashU, as she has served as a prevention specialist in the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) Center on campus since 2021. In this role, she has worked to develop and implement evidence-based educational programs and develop and manage a comprehensive program calendar. Additionally, she advises the peer education group Leaders in Interpersonal and Violence Education (LIVE) as well as overseeing office, clinical and prevention assessment and evaluation practices.
 
Prior to her role at WashU, Reid worked as a prevention specialist in the Office of Equity at Utah State from June 2020 to January 2021. In this role, she was responsible for the implementation, management and evaluation of employee training along with development and facilitation of bias trainings and respondent trainings.
 
Reid completed her master's degrees in public health and social work at WashU, graduating in May 2020. While in school at WashU, she was a research assistant for the Relationship and Sexual Violence Assessment Initiative, a practicum student at the RSVP Center and an assistant residential college director for the Office of Residential Life.
 
Reid earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in public health with a minor in medical humanities.
