Altamonte Springs, Fla. – The No. 17 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 7 Emory 5-0 in the semifinal of the UAA Championships. The Bears will play in tomorrow's third-place match against NYU at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Karen Gao and
Eliana Hanna fell to Ana Cristina Perez and Emily Kantrovitz 8-2 at first doubles while
Katherine Johnston and
Amber Edmonds lost to Izzy Antanavicius and Alexa Goetz 8-6 at second doubles.
Ainsley Heidbreder and
Nina Moravek fell to Eliza McPherron and Iris Berman 8-4 at third doubles.
Hanna lost to Kantroviz 6-4, 6-2 at second singles while Edmonds fell to McPherron 6-3, 6-3 at fifth singles.
Matches between Gao and Stephanie Shulman at first singles, Moravek and Perez at third singles and Johnston and Ilayda Baykan at fourth singles remained unfinished as Emory clinched the match.
