Box Score St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team defeated Division II McKendree 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
 
The Bears went down 2-1 following doubles before coming back to win all six singles matches.
 
Pato Garcia Muriel and Colin Scruggs won the lone doubles match for WashU, defeated Nanase Ebisu and Lorenzo Del Biondo 6-2.
 
Phuc Huynh topped Leonardo Schmitz Frederico 6-1, 6-4 at first singles and Abhi Ramireddy defeated Benedek Szombathelyi 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 (5) at second singles.
 
Jared Phillips beat Tomas Leston 6-4, 6-4 at third singles and Eric Kuo defeated Jose Antonio Velasco 6-4, 6-0 at fourth singles.
 
Scruggs topped Del Biondo 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 at fifth singles and James Shaheen notched a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ebisu at sixth singles.
 
The Bears travel to Texas this weekend for matches against Southwestern and Trinity.
