St. Louis, Mo. – The Washington University in St. Louis Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the John M. Schael Director of Athletics Anthony J. Azama has announced the hiring of Sam Streett as the newest Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Bears.
Street comes to WashU after having spent the last two years at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Mont. as the head athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach.
"I am so excited to welcome Sam to the Bear family," said Chris Schultheiss, Head Athletic Trainer. "He brings a great deal of athletic training knowledge and experience to our department. His enthusiasm and professionalism will only serve to enhance the services provided to our Scholar-Champions. I am excited for the positive impact that he will have on our Bear community."
Prior to his time in Montana, Streett spent nearly three years in Colorado, most recently as the head athletic trainer at the Orthopaedic and Spine Center of the Rockies. Prior to that, he worked as a fitness coach at D1 Sports Training and a PRN athletic trainer at Centura Health. Streett also has professional experience, serving as an athletic trainer for the Colorado Switchbacks FC from August 2017 to May 2019.
Streett holds undergraduate degrees in athletic training and exercise science from the College of Charleston and Master of Science in sports medicine from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. He is no stranger to St. Louis, having graduated from nearby MICDS.
Streett begins his duties at WashU on Monday, March 27.
