No. 17 Women's Tennis Downed by No. 7 Amherst

Claremont, Calif. – The No. 17 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 7 Amherst 7-2 on Friday afternoon to conclude its spring break trip. The Bears are now 6-5 on the season.
 
The Bears notched a win at third doubles as Ainsley Heidbreder and Nina Moravek defeated Sophie Diop and Deliala Friedman 8-7 (7-2).
 
Eliana Hanna and Amber Edmonds fell to Katja Jules Viberg and Karolina Dobiecka 8-3 at first doubles while Katherine Johnston and Carolyn Tsung lost to Amy Cui and Katie Hart 8-3 at second doubles.
 
Hallie Jeffers picked up the lone win at singles, defeating Viberg 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
 
Moravek fell to Cui 6-1, 6-4 at first singles and Sophia Huynh lost to Friedman 6-4, 6-4 at second singles. Edmonds lost to Diop 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 at third singles while Tsung fell to Calista Sha 6-1, 6-4 at fourth singles. Heidbreder fell to Dobiecka 7-5, 6-3 at fifth singles.
 
The Bears are back on home on March 28 with a 4:15 match against Maryville.
