St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 21 Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team rolled past No. 15 Rochester 79-61 on Friday evening in the Field House. The Bears are 15-4 overall with a 6-2 mark in UAA play, tied for first with Emory.

Things started out even between the Bears and the Yellowjackets, but WashU started to pull away midway through the first half.

Up 11-10 with 11:50 on the clock, the Bears went on a 9-0 run behind five points from first-year Will Grudzinski and four points from Doyle, going up 20-10. A bucket and a pair of free throws from Kindsvater and a 3-pointer from Jacob extended the Bears' lead to 27-11.

The Yellowjackets, however, scored 11-straight points to cut WashU's lead down to just five points with 2:58 left in the first half.

A layup from Wolf and a shot from distance from Doyle extended the Bears' lead back to double-digits, 34-22. The teams exchanged baskets and a 3-pointer from Rochester's Dan Masino sent the Bears into halftime with a 38-29 edge.

The Yellowjackets kept the game in single digits in the opening minutes of the second half. It wasn't until the 10:25 mark that proved to be the turning point for the Bears, as they went on an 11-0 run to go up 62-43.

First-year Calvin Kapral started the run with an and-one play and Kindsvater followed with a layup. Kindsvater closed out the run with a 3-pointer, was fouled and hit the ensuing free throw for a four-point play.

As the clock ticked down, the Yellowjackets never came closer than 17 points.
