Box Score Conway, Ark. – The Washington University in St. Louis baseball team fell to RV Hendrix 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Bears are now 3-1 on the season.
 
After the Bears left a runner on base in the top of the first inning, Hendrix came out in the bottom half of the inning to put one run on the board.
 
Adam Bland hit a lead-off single to right, stole second base and advanced to third on a passed ball. H Hogan Ralston drove in Bland with a sacrifice fly to center field to make it a 1-0 game.
 
The Bears tied things up in the top of the third inning, starting with a walk for Zac Malis. Hunter Goldberg drew another walk and both runners advanced on a Brandon Buday pop up to first. Shane Pellegrino drove in Malis with a sacrifice fly to right field.
 
The Warriors added another two runs in the bottom of the third inning.
 
Bland drew a lead-off walk and then stole second. Ralston drew a walk and Bland advanced to third on a wild pitch. Zach Marriot singled to right field, driving home Bland and Ralston. A single from Drake Job through the right side brought in Ralston for a 3-1 game.
 
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Austin Rabago drew a one-out walk, prompting a Bears' pitching change. He then moved up a base on a wild pitch and scored on a Bland single through the left side.
 
After several scoreless innings on both sides, Hendrix put up its final two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Job reached base on an error and advanced to second. Rail Gilliam drew a one-out walk and both runners stole a base. With two outs, Rabago singled to center, bringing home Job and Gilliam.
 
The Bears collected four hits on the day and left six runners on base. Clayton Miller took the loss on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings with four earned runs and six strikeouts.
 
WashU picks it back up tomorrow with a double-header at Hendrix to close out the three-game series.
