No. 12 Volleyball:Â
- The No. 12 volleyball team traveled to Boston to compete in the third and final University Athletic Association Round Robin, Sunday, October 22Â
- The Bears took down University of Rochester in four (25-20, 25-19, 25-27, 25-16) and then dropped a thrilling, five set, match to No. 5 Emory University (23-25, 25-15, 25-14, 22-25, 15-12)Â
- NOTE: Head coach Vanessa Walby is one win shy of reaching her 400th career victory (163 wins at Chicago and 236 wins at WashU)
- With all seven UAA contests in the book, WashU's 5-2 league record earned them the third seed heading into the UAA Championships that will take place November 11-12

- In the two matches, junior Jasmine Sells notched a double-double in each contest

- WashU welcomed a perfect 2-0 weekend as the Bears outscored their opponents 4-0Â
- Senior Owen Culver tallied three of WashU's four goals this past weekendÂ
- WashU defeated Carnegie Mellon, 3-0, Friday, October 20, then escaped Cleveland with a 1-0 victory, Sunday October 22Â
- Friday's CMU contest saw all three goals come in the second 45Â
- Culver earned the game-winner on a free kick in the 75th minute, then recorded his second goal in the 79th minuteÂ
- With just 67 seconds remaining, junior Joseph Hipskind added an insurance goal to push the Bears past Carnegie Mellon, 3-0Â

- The WashU swimming and diving team opened up their 2023-24 campaign with a home dual meet against Division I Saint Louis University, Friday, October 20Â
- The Bears defeated the Billikens by a score of 128.50-105.50Â

- The 200-medley relay team consisting of Kyle Wolford, Justin Rockaway, Alexander McCormick, and Kai Garren won the relay with a time of 1:37.13Â
- Ethan Feng won the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:42.82Â
- McCormick then won the 200 IM as he turned in a time of 1:54.22Â
- Wolford claimed the 100 butterfly (50.91), Feng claimed the 100 freestyle (47.49), Ryan Hillery won the 500 freestyle (4:47.36), and Nathan Lin won the 100 breaststroke (58.98)Â

No. 16 Women's Swimming and Diving:Â
- The No. 16 women's swimming and diving team lifted the lid on their 2023-24 season as the Bears hosted Division 1 SLU, Friday, October 20Â

- The Bears claimed the first event of the evening, the 200-medley relay, with Elizabeth Chen, Riyapreet Sahota, Eve Kearns, and Sophia Gossum touching in with a time of 1:48.37Â
- First year Rachel Bello topped the 200-freestyle field with a mark of 1:56.99Â
- First year Peyton Watson won the 50 freestyle (24.79)Â
- Rin Limi (2:11.00) won the 200 IM, Watson (57.91) won the 100 butterfly, Chen (58.54) won the 100 backstroke, Hannah Lee (1:06.37) won the 100 breaststrokeÂ
- In the diving portion of the meet, Shanze Karimi claimed the 1-meter board, totaling 239.60 pointsÂ

- The Bears made the trip to Naperville, Ill. to tangle with the No. 1 North Central Cardinals, Saturday, October 21Â
- WashU fell by a final score of 49-3Â

- Sophomore Tiffany Chan tied for 45th with a total of 232 (81, 78, 73)Â
- Sophomore Athena Nguyen tied for 60th overall with a 235 (77, 81, 77)Â
- WashU wrapped up a busy week in the Sunshine State with the University Athletic Association Championships, Wednesday, October 18
- The Bears finished fourth in the match-play format
- WashU fell to third-seed Emory 3-2 in the semifinal match

Men's Tennis:Â
- After rain impacted the Dwight Davis Tourney, the Bears completed the four-day event on Monday, October 16 at Tao Tennis CenterÂ
- WashU swept the doubles draws as sophomore Colin Fox and senior Gaurav Singh won the stripes draw and junior Pata Garcia Muriel and junior Scott Yamamoto won the stars drawÂ
- Fox and Singh defeated teammates, sophomores Eric Kuo and Colin Scruggs, 8-4 in the final match to claim the victoryÂ
