No. 14 Women's Swimming and Diving Tops DePauw

St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 14 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team defeated DePauw 181-97 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Prior to competition, the Bears honored seniors Sam Auditore, Noelle DiClemente, Rosie Finglass, Emily Guo, Mikayla Klein, Kayleigh Lewis, Maggie Teng and Grace Uldrich and graduating junior Lauren Waire.
 
Swimming
WashU opened the day with a win in the 200 medley relay as the team of Caroline Deluca, Riyapreet Sahota, Lauren Antonowich and DiClemente took first in 1:50.52. The group of Alice Han, Guo, Klein and Lewis took third in 1:52.39.
 
First-year Anna Fonda won the 1,000 freestyle by 15 seconds, racing to a time of 10:42.44. Teng finished fourth in 11:40.32 while Auditore took fifth in 11:58.92.
 
First-year Rin Iimi won the 200 freestyle, racing to a time of 1:56.15. Sahota finished second with a time of 1:56.49 and sophomore Isabella Barrientos claimed third in 1:59.53.
 
Deluca led the field in the 100 backstroke, swimming to a time of 1:01.08. Alice Mao finished fifth in 1:02.83 and Klein took sixth in 1:02.90.
 
The Bears claimed the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke, led by Guo with a first-place finish of 1:08.39. Junior Abby Liff took second in 1:08.58 and Teng finished third in 1:09.63.
 
Antonowich won the field in the 200 butterfly, racing to a time of 2:12.23. Sophomore Kiara Crumbley finished second with a time of 2:18.51.
 
DiClemente was the top WashU finisher in the 50 freestyle, taking second in 25.23. Lewis finished third with a time of 25.72 and Uldrich took fourth in 25.85.
 
Antonowich won her second race of the day in the 100 freestyle, racing to a time of 54.61. First-year Sophia Gossum finished second with a time of 54.78 and Lewis took fourth in 55.08.
 
Han claimed the top spot in the 200 backstroke, swimming to a time of 2:09.84.
 
Guo won her second individual race of the day, finishing first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.48.
 
After winning the 1,000 freestyle earlier in the day, Fonda took the victory in the 500 freestyle, racing to a time of 5:10.92.
 
Klein won the field for the Bears in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.48.
 
Han won again, this time in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:41.31.
 
In the final race of the day, the 200 freestyle relay, WashU's team of Iimi, Andrea Leng, Antonowich and DiClemente finished second with a time of 1:39.41. The group of Gossum, Sahota, Yasmeen Ibrahim and Lewis took third in 1:40.28.
 
Diving
On the 1-meter board, junior Noa Miller won with a score of 249.25. Senior Rosie Finglass finished second with 232.00 points.
 
On the 3-meter board, Finglass won with a score of 240.40, followed by Miller in second with 221.40.
 
The Bears now have a break in competition until February 8 when they travel to Emory for UAA Championships which lasts four days.
