Box Score Madison, Wis. – The No. 21 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Chicago 9-0 in the Midwest Invitational final on Saturday morning.
In doubles action, Karen Gao and Ainsley Heidbreder fell to Sylwia Mikos and Shianna Guo 8-3 at first doubles. Divya Sharma and Katherine Johnston lost 8-1 to Claudia Ng and Eugenia Lee at second doubles while Aasha Ardila and Maggie Yang were defeated by Miranda Yaun and Nicole Geller at third doubles.
On the singles side, Sharma fell to Mikos 6-0, 6-1 at first singles while Huynh lost to Guo 6-1, 6-1 at second singles.
Hannah Johnston was defeated by Ng 6-1, 6-0 at third singles and Carolyn Tsung lost to Geller 6-1, 7-5 at fourth singles. Ardila fell to Yuan 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles and Natalie Muldowny was defeated by Lauren Park 6-2, 6-1 at sixth singles.
The Bears begin a five-match homestand on Tuesday, starting with a match against Principia at 4:30 p.m. at Tao Tennis Center.
