Box Score San Antonio, Texas – The No. 21 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 24 Trinity University 7-2 on Sunday morning. The Bears are now 8-5 on the season.
The Bears picked up a win at third doubles as Maggie Yang and Aasha Ardila defeated Sam Miller and Ellie Hughes 8-7 (7-1).
Karen Gao and Katherine Johnston fell to Cate Cushing and Megan Flores 8-5 at first doubles and Divya Sharma and Carolyn Tsung lost to Olivia Kim and Ruth Hill 8-3 at second doubles.
WashU also picked up a win at fourth singles as Katherine Johnston took down Flores 7-5, 6-3.
Gao fell to Kim 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) at first singles while Sharma lost to Cushing 6-1, 6-4 at second singles. Sophia Huynh was defeated by Hill 6-2, 6-1 at third singles while Hannah Johnston fell to Jenna Lee 7-5, 6-2 at fifth singles. Tsung long to Elodie Richard 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 at sixth singles.
The Bears return to action next weekend at the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wis.
