No. 15 Women's Swimming and Diving Topped by No. 5 Chicago

Chicago, Ill. – The No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team fell to No. 5 Chicago, 211-87, on Saturday afternoon.
 
Swimming
The Bears started the day with a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Alice Han, Riyapreet Sahota, Mikayla Klein and Noelle DiClemente raced to a time of 1:51.11, notching two points.
 
First-year Anna Fonda won the field in the 1,000 freestyle, racing to a first-place time of 10:36.59. Sophomore Kiara Crumbley also finished in the top five, taking fifth in 11:18.32.
 
Sophomore Isabella Barrientos was the top Bears' finisher in the 200 freestyle, taking fifth in 1:58.45.
 
WashU had two of the top five swimmers in the 100 backstroke, led by first-year Ali Roche in third with a time of 1:00.07. First-year Andrew Leng took fourth in 1:00.47.
 
Sahota took third to lead the Bears in the backstroke, swimming to a time of 1:07.37. Senior Emily Guo finished fourth with a time of 1:08.32.
 
Klein was the top Bears' finisher in the 200 butterfly, taking third in 2:13.74. Lauren Antonowich finished fourth with a time of 2:15.16 while Eve Kearns finished fifth in 2:18.25.
 
DiClemente led WashU in the 50 freestyle, swimming to a third-place time of 24.75. Leng rounded out the top five with a fifth-place finish in 25.08.
 
Antonowich was the lone WashU finisher in the top five in the 100 freestyle, taking fourth with a time of 54.69.
 
WashU had three of the top five finishers in the 200 backstroke, led by Roche who took third with a time of 2:08.86. Han finished fourth in 2:12.35 while Barrientos took fifth in 2:12.50.
 
First-year Rin Iimi was the top finisher for WashU in the 200 breaststroke, taking fourth in 2:29.32. Guo rounded out the top five with a fifth-place finish in 2:29.38.
 
Fonda claimed her second race of the day, winning the 500 freestyle in 5:10.53. Sahota also finished in the top five, racing to fifth in 5:24.15.
 
Klein led the way for the Bears in the 100 butterfly, taking fourth in 1:00.58 while first-year Avery Dixon took fifth in 1:01.67.
 
Iimi led the field in the 400 IM, winning in 4:36.75. Han claimed third in 4:43.36 while Roche took fourth in 4:45.19.
 
The Bears took second in the final race of the day, the 200 freestyle relay, as the team of Antonowich, Leng, Kayleigh Lewis and DiClemente raced to a time of 1:39.02.
 
Diving
Senior Rosie Finglass finished third on the 1-meter board, racking up 214.57 points.
 
On the 3-meter board, Finglass finished fourth with a score of 204.30.
 
WashU returns to Chicago next weekend for the two-day D3 Shootout on Friday and Saturday.
