Box Score Lisle, Ill., April 18, 2021 – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 road win over North Central Sunday afternoon at Benet Academy Tennis Courts.
The win marked the Bears' seventh-straight victory as WashU improved to 7-1 for the season and the Cardinals fell to 9-5.
Senior Laurel Wanger passed a milestone in the effort, picking up her 50th career victory. Wanger teamed up with first year Katherine Johnston for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles in addition to picking up a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles.
Senior Ally Persky and first year Karen Gao teamed up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles while juniors Hannah Johnston and Divya Sharma won 8-1 in the third flight.
Persky won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Gao won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2, Sharma won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, Hannah Johnston won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 and Katherine Johnston won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.
WashU will host its final home match of the season with a 4:30 p.m. match against Webster on Wednesday, April 21 at the Tao Tennis Center.
