Box Score St. Louis, Mo., April 10, 2021 – The Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team picked up its fifth-consecutive win with a 9-0 victory over Augustana (Ill.) Saturday in a match that was moved indoors to the Forest Lake Tennis Club due to rain.
The Bears improved to 5-1 on the season while the Vikings fell to 4-4.
Senior Ally Persky teamed up with first year Karen Gao for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles while senior Laurel Wanger and junior Divya Sharma won 8-0 at No. 2 and senior Emma Sass and junior Hannah Johnston won 8-2 at No. 3.
Persky won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Sharma won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, Wanger won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, sophomore Sophia Huynh won 6-1, 6-6, 10-7 No. 4, Hannah Johnston won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, and Sass won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
The Bears will travel to St. Charles, Mo., Tuesday, April 13 for a makeup match against Lindenwood.
