No. 18 WashU's Rally Falls Short to No. 21 NYU

Altamonte Springs, Fla., April 27, 2019 – Senior Brigitte Hodge fought back from a one-set deficit to win the final match of her career but it was not enough as the No. 18-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell to No. 21 New York University 5-4 in the fifth-place match of the 2019 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Fla. 

NYU improved to 10-2 with the win, while WashU ended its season with a 12-12 record.

Judy Kam sealed the victory for the Violets with a 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (10-8) win over sophomore Laurel Wanger at No. 5 singles.

WashU's senior class of Lisa ChionisBrigitte Hodge and Libby Jubas concluded their career with a 56-40 (.583) overall record and helped lead the Bears to three NCAA Tournaments, including a pair of NCAA Quarterfinals finishes.
